Gift closet

Good afternoon,

I have a gift closet.  I think this has saved me hundreds of dollars over the years.  Whenever I am out if I see something I like on sale I buy it to put in my gift closet.  Often while at Goodwill there will be brand new things from Target as well as from homes where the item is still in original packaging.  I also find new items at garage sales for dirt cheap.  Most of the time I have someone in mind when I buy a gift and I save it until their birthday, Christmas or just because.  I also go to stores right after a major holiday to get items at a huge discount.  Here are some of the gifts I have in my closet, anyone want to call dibs?:)

I found all three of these items at Goodwill.  They were from Target and had never been used.  I paid $3.99 for the gun and $1.99 for the science experiment and .99 for the cupcake toppers.  What fun for birthday parties.  I just have to hide them before my kids see the cool things I find.

These are also things I have found at Goodwill that are brand new.  Beautiful journals, and a wine cup that says Happy Birthday never been used.  Prices ranged from .99 to 1.99.  I love these finds because I love to give out gifts just because I want to not because of a special occasion.  This way, I don't feel guilty that I spent a lot of money, but the person who receives feels good and so do I:)  And probably my husband feels better that I don't spend a fortune.

These items were on major discounts at stores.  The Wine Planner was from QFC and was $1.98, the sterling silver necklace from Nordstrom Rack for $5.98, and the hand sanitizer from Anthropologie was .99.

These items were bought after Christmas for a major discount.  I have Duck fans in my family so I got the garland.  The ice cream pouch has soap and lotion which is a great extra for gifts for girls, and the Christmas socks were great because my oldest daughter has a sock exchange every Christmas.

I have probably 30 more gifts tucked away, some even for those reading this:)  I hope these ideas can save you money as they have me.  One important piece of advice is to store them all in the same place and even write down what you have so you don't forget or lose the gifts:)

Happy Wednesday!

Dena
