Good Friday morning to you:)
A few days ago I ventured into the Goodwill outlet in Hillsboro.
Having been there once before I knew what to expect.
You would think that a seasoned Goodwill person like me could handle this challenge.
I have to admit it had the ick factor.
I felt like an outsider standing with my mouth wide open as two people wheeled out a new bin while singing and people lined the aisle for a close look.
I definitely needed a rule book here.
It seems that people wait for new bins and then there is a mad dash for the new stuff.
They all knew not to touch a thing until the workers left.
Does anyone have the rule book for this store?
Anyhoo, while all were feasting on the new items I headed toward the back of the store.
This is where all of the furniture is.
Out of the corner of my eye I spied this:
I was definitely intrigued.
This old Clarin Mfg. chair was $5.
I wasn't sure and still am not what I will do with it but I knew I needed it:)
Any suggestions?
Should I paint it white?
I am torn here because this old color is growing on me.
I couldn't bring myself to go through the clothing bins.
I stayed an arms distance away from the rest of the bins.
I did dig into the book bins.
There are some really old books there!
I may go back to get more just because it is fun to look at a bit of history.
I spied this book and knew it could add some spice to my life:
I love the color of it:)
And look inside:
Pages and pages of old sheet music.
It is already antiqued for me:)
My brain hurts due to all of the brainstorming of projects I can do.
Anyone have ideas?
And last but not least I found an old geometry book from 1945.
It even had someones corrected math paper still inside:)
Alex is taking geometry and I have such troubles with this subject.
I thought it would make a great decoration on the desk.
You know that Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn sell these "found" books for big bucks?
Next time I will take heed from the other shoppers at this Goodwill and bring gloves!
Some even had face masks on.
I have been long winded today.
I know at least one of you reads this but would love to hear from the rest of you with your ideas:)
I hope your Friday is fabulous!
~Dena:)
