Mother daughter time.

Happy Monday night to you.

I hope you all are enjoying the last days of January.

I know I am loving the little bit of extra light each day.

This last Friday Sammy and I were home alone and decided to go to Goodwill.

We found this:

It is a wooden doll house.
We painted it white.

We bought this curtain panel to use to decorate the house.

We cut out the flower and butterfly and used the hot glue gun to adhere it to the wood.

Sammy wanted rugs so we cut some fabric from the curtain.
She also wanted lights so we used stickers I already had and put them together.
We used blocks and glued them to the house as counters.
We hot glued fabric onto one of the blocks to make a table.
On the right side you can see we made curtains and used a button for the sink.

You can see another piece of fabric used for curtains in the "living room".

The bathroom is probably my favorite room.
We made a shower curtain.
We put down rugs.
We glued up a mirror and made a counter with a sink.

It was so much fun:)
I wish I had one of these when I was a girl!

I love the memories we made that day decorating this house:)

Do you have any fun memories of things built or decorated with your child?
I would love to hear about them:)

Have a good night!

We are growing up.

Ahhhhhhh,
Do you see those beautiful blue skies and the sun?
It is amazing how light I feel when we have days like today:)
I have decided that it is time to start getting rid of plastic kids cups.
Not all, but most.
Today I got rid of these three:

I guess when your youngest daughter is ten it is time to get some more grown up glasses:)

I replaced them with these.

I love the picture of the cow:)
I found this one at Goodwill for .99.

I got this one at Anthropologie.
It was made in Italy.
I love that the glass I am using comes from another country:)
I feel so well traveled.

This one also came from Anthropologie.
It was made in Slovenia.
Wow, that is cool.

I love how simple things can make life a little bit brighter.
Are you that way too?
What makes your life a litter bit brighter?

I hope your Thursday is amazing!

Inspired.

Today I was searching etsy and found this cupcake wreath.

About seven months ago I bought this at Goodwill.
I haven't known what to do with these cupcake holders until today.

This is what I made.

This was super fun to do.
I love Etsy.
This was a great way to spend a rainy yucky day.

I hope your rainy day is a good one.

Welcome to my life.

They're back!
Yesterday while watching Hoarders on tv I went to get a drink of water and found ants everywhere!
Ughhhhh!
I HATE ants!
Wayne thinks their home got flooded so they came inside.
Anyone else have these pests show up?

This is about six loads of clean laundry to fold.

Dylan is home sick:(

Happy Monday to me!

Anyone else having a Monday like this?

Some snowmen and other things:)

Good Wednesday to you:)

This morning Sammy & Dylan decided they each needed to make a snowman.

Each was little but sure cute!

Now all that is left is the carrots and chocolate chips:(

They see the snow all the time when skiing, they just don't get to "play" in it often.

Did you make a snowman?

It is official, I am really and truly loving the Goodwill outlet.
Did you know that all glass items are .39 a pound?

I got all of this for .... are you ready?
$2.39.
Yes, I wrote correctly.
The mugs are city Starbucks mugs.
Denver, Miami, Portland, Seattle and Spokane.
No chips, no stains, perfect!

The saucer plate has a bee on it and is from Pottery Barn.

The little espresso cup and plate are from Sur La Table.

The china bowl is Enesco made in Japan.

I love it, I love it, I love it!

I would like to keep the Portland and Seattle mugs but if you would like one of the other Starbucks mugs let me know.

It is truly hit and miss at the outlet.

They always have some cool old furniture there.

Are you looking for anything in particular?

I would love to help you look for it:)

Let me know.

I hope your Wednesday is the best.

Found.

Do you ever put stuff away and think for sure that you will remember where you put it?
I do this all of the time.
Of course, I usually forget where I put it!
Yesterday I searched for my missing Valentine decor and I found it:)
This year I think I will write in my calendar for next year where I put it away.

I didn't feel you got a good look at these hearts yesterday.

They truly are so easy to make.
I really like how they turned out.

I found my X and O's banners.
Last year I used a pink glittered ribbon.
I ripped off the pink ribbon and added new ribbon.

Last year I put flowers in the middle of these hearts.
This year I left them blank.

I added the burlap covered heart and added the X's and O's around the tree.

It was fun finding last years decorations and changing them a bit.

Have you seen any fun Valentine decor ideas?
I would love to hear about them:)

Another fun day watching the snow fall.

I hope your Tuesday is amazing!

Valentine decor.

Good snowy Monday to you:)

Today was the perfect day to get some Valentine decor out.
I also got my glue gun, an old book and did some crafting.

This was easy and super fun to make:)
I used scrabble tiles X and O for Valentines.

I found the black tile at an antique store last year.
I wish I could find the rest that I bought:(

Down came the mercury ornaments.
Up went hearts.

It is hard to see but I put up the LOVE letters and I made heart garland for the top.

Here is more heart garland that I made.
I used an old book some white thread, hot glue and a heart cookie cutter for the template.

I have enjoyed being inspired through Etsy and pinterest:)

I hope your Monday has been restful!

For the love of old books:)

Happy sunny Thursday:)
It is another sunny blue sky day!
I am so thankful for these days:)

It is official.
I am a bin scrounging junkie!
It seems bin diving is a fun sport.
I have a new love.
Old books.
I have found several that make me smile.
I decided to do a make over on my book shelf.

This is where I am supposed to show you a before and after picture.
I am too lazy to get the old baskets out and take a picture.
So you will have to use your imaginations:)
I used to have brown wicker baskets in here.
I had two on each shelf.

I love the Cannon Beach one on top:)

I even held back and only put three shells in:)

Don't you love the cover?

The inscription says:
Aug, 5, 1908
Presented to Akesson.
So cool!

I need to read this.

Whoopsies, the writing is too light.
It says:
Willa Blackwood
from mother. 1928.

Such fun:)

I could bin dive all day to find cool inscriptions!

I have other old books that are red and I will use those for crafts since I don't do red.

Let me know if there is an old book title you would love to have.

I will try and find it:)

Happy Thursday,

~Dena;)
