A night in Portland:)

Mr. SSH and I had a night on the town last night!

We started our night with a party in the Pearl District. Isn't he handsome?

Next we headed to Portland's famous Peacock lane.

They close the street to cars.

Every house is lit up.

It was such fun!

Sigh....

I so appreciate Mr. SSH for going out tonight! He would have much rather hung out at home! He got all gussied up for me!

If you are looking for something to do I highly recommend going to Peacock lane!

Oh Christmas tree

Last night we decorated our tree.

Here is our tree with just lights.

We had not a most joyful time choosing this tree😔

You see, I am mom to two teenage girls who have definite opinions of what they wanted the tree to look like. So Saturday afternoon we went to the tree farm. Immediately each daughter found their tree. Each tree was very wide! We don't have a big space to put a tree. We needed a skinny tree. Both girls were in tears hating the tree we decided on. I may have said we weren't going to get any tree because of the girls attitudes😁 this is when Dylan started crying:(  we did get the tree and all were silent the entire half mile home.

Last night was much more joyful☺

We had Christmas music playing and our favorite ornaments:)

One of our family traditions is to cut off a chunk of the trunk and sign it.

This is such a fun  tradition☺

Mr. SSH made me this foil star when we were dating and we still use it each Christmas:)

It was Sammy's year to put it on the tree.

Cheap, simple elegant presents

I stopped buying wrapping paper long ago.

I usually find a big roll of art paper at Goodwill and some twine and call it good.

This year I found both of these for a total of $5.99:

I have been using this roll for over a year now. I found the green yarn this year☺

I love how they turned out:)

I also used up a roll of plain paper too.

Cheap homemade wreath

I also found cool burlap ribbon at TJ Max for $9.99.

I just wrapped the ribbon around the wire and made a bow.

Our semi adopted cat:)

Good Monday morning to you.

I am sitting on the floor next to the sliding glass doors petting "Chaz" our cat that drops by on a daily basis. He has no identification on him.  We have seen him almost daily since summer. Sammy named him "Chaz".  A few weeks ago he seemed to be getting thin.  Against Mr. SSH better judgement he brought home some cat food. I bought him a pet carrier and some blankets for him to sleep on our porch.  He so far hasn't slept there:( Last week he was gone for five days and it has been sooooo cold! I was so worried about him! He came back on Saturday:) he is a constant purrer:) Mr. SSH and I used to have two cats, Romeo and Juliet. When Alex was two we had to give them away because she was allergic. It has been so nice petting "Chaz" everyday:). Here he is:
