Pumpkin carving

Happy Sunday to you all:)
I hope you are staying dry!
Friday night Sammy & I went to her school for a monster bash.

We woke up to a wet wood floor
in our downstairs bathroom.
It seems the plumbing
Mr. SSH did last weekend
had some problems......
poor Mr. SSH!

Today we went to Winco to get our  pumpkins instead
of the pumpkin patch because we waited too long
and the rain is coming down.
Instead of spending $25 for four pumpkins
we spent $4.35!

My parents come over every year to assist
in the carving.

Aren't they cute?

Another fun carving day:)

Have you guys carved pumpkins yet?

I would love to see pictures:)

Have a spectacular rest of your Sunday.

Accessorize with Halloween fun:)

Happy Wednesday to you all:)
I hope this night finds you well.
Did you spy the little specs of blue in the sky today?
I did:)
I have decided that all is well if we can at least see blue once a day
even if it is a tiny glimpse:)
Many of you have already seen my fun Halloween
ring & purse,
but I had to share with all because it is
going to make you smile:)

This ring was LOVE at first sight!

This spider was mine for a whopping $.99.

This my friends is my cool new Halloween purse:)

The fam walks very far away from me when I wear this.
It seems they are embarrassed of me.
Well.....
I don't care!

She makes me smile:)

Do you accessorize for Halloween?

I am in purse love

Good Tuesday to you:)
My name is Dena and I am a purseaholic!
Yesterday while shopping at my favorite store
Goodwill, I spied this:

Be still my heart!

It was love at first sight.
The best part was the price....
$1.99
SOLD!

Does this happen to you also?
You fall instantly madly in love with something?
I'd love to know:)

Enjoy your evening

Decorating cookies

Happy Monday to you:)
I hope this day finds you well!
I even spied blue skies & the sun today....
YIPPEE!

This weekend Mr. SSH went to the store to buy
donuts & bananas for breakfast.
Super healthy I know.
Milk was included in this nutritious breakfast:)
He also came home with a kit of sugar cookies
& frosting.
He really knows how to have fun!

Sam & Dylan hard at work:)

We decided it was way more fun to decorate them
than to first cook them:)

Sam put the frosting on so thick we were
sure she would have black teeth & mouth!

Decorating your own cookie is so much fun:)
I am sure it tastes better too!

Do you decorate cookies with your kids?
Such a simple, cheap activity brings big smiles:)

Enjoy the rest of your Monday

Bathroom reveal

Happy sunny Wednesday to you:)
I hope you had a chance to get out and
roll in some leaves
and soak up the sun:)

The bathroom is done!
Mr. SSH worked for over 14 hours
on plumbing issues
and running back and forth to Home Depot.
I am so pleased with how it turned out!

Rats if I didn't take a before picture!

Besides changing out the brass for chrome,
I did some de-cluttering.

I shopped around my house for decor.

I LOVE my new mirror!
It is Pottery Barn and I found it on
Craigslist for $70.

I LOVE how big my new sink is.

I got the new light fixture from
Habitat for Humanity Re-Store for $2!
The light covers are from Goodwill.

What do you think?

I am truly blessed to have such a handy, handsome husband!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Pillow love.

Happy wet Monday to you:)
I hope you are enjoying our change in weather.
I am unsure how I feel about it.
It is fun to go to bed at night with the
pitter patter of rain on my windows.
It is fun to watch the leaves fly off of the trees.
It is fun to be cozy inside and watch it rain.
It is fun when your 3rd grader is soaked to the bone
from soccer in the rain and he thinks the rain was fun.

It is not fun to put real shoes on.
I am rebelling and still in my flip flops:)
It is not fun when you have to walk out to a soggy,
muddy field to get your 3rd grader from practice.
It is not fun when you forget a coat and umbrella.

What are your thoughts on the rain?

I just had the best girls weekend get together
at the beach.
This group of girls range in age from 43 - 73.
We have three of us in our 40's
three of us in our 50's
one in our 60's
and one in our 70's.
The wisdom I gain each and every time I
get together with these wonderful girls is priceless!
We spent a lot of time shopping and I really only found
one treasure to bring home.
We stopped at the Blue Heron Cheese farm in Tillamook
for lunch.
They  have wonderful food, wine and lots and lots of fun
treasures to lure you in.
As many of you know, I am quite fond of  pillows.
I found this pillow and couldn't leave it in the store:

This is an ode to my amazing husband, Mr. SSH.
He spent over eight hours this weekend trying to
put my powder room sink in.
It still isn't done!
He is wonderful!
I LOVE this saying:)

I hope you are well!

A quick fix.

Happy sunny Tuesday:)
Can you believe how amazing the weather
has been in Oregon?
I feel blessed daily!

A few days ago I found this at Goodwill:

I really liked the sign the way it was
but it just doesn't go with what I have
got going on at my house.

Soooooooooo.......

I got out the spray paint.

I have gotten so much use out of the
burlap ribbon.
I LOVE how it looks.
I already had the little wooden sign, driftwood & shell.

I hung it in my downstairs bathroom.
One of my little cherubs dropped the glass soap jar
into my sink and now there is a nice crack/hole in it.
 I used this opportunity to
buy a new sink:)
Of course I used this opportunity to change the brass
for chrome:)
Mr. SSH is none too happy that this is taking place.....
Good thing he loves me:)
I can't wait to show you all of the changes!

I hope you are well.

The making of a light.

Happy sunny Monday to you:)
I hope you are well!
Last Friday I picked this up at a garage sale:

I thought I would love it hung up.
Turns out it looked too girly.
I know right?
Is there such a thing as too girly?
In this case....
YES:)

I took out the bulb & wiring & attached it to a plain linen lamp.

I like this much better.

I have never made a light before:)
The fun thing is I could change the look of it
by changing the shade.

Have you made a light fixture before?

Sleep well!

Treasures found.

Happy sunny Friday to you:)
Have you noticed the leaves blowing about?
Have you enjoyed the crunching of the leaves beneath your feet?
We have been sooooo blessed with this amazing weather!
I hope you are able to enjoy it.

Today I got to go to a few garage sales with a good friend.
I found some fun, funky stuff!

I found this fun form that my kids say looks like a mummy.

It is perfect with the witch hat on top:)

You know me and my pillows....
I can never have enough:)

I found this old candle holder too.

I love it with the candles:)

I have always wanted one of these flags!

I have always been too cheap to pay $12 for one.
This one was $2.
LOVE IT!

This is a hanging lamp.
I am not sure what this will look like when I am done with it.
I need Mr. SSH help with some of my ideas:)
I can't wait to show you what I decide to do with it.

I hope your Friday is amazing!
