First day of school.

Good afternoon,

I don't know about you but when I send my kids off to their first day of school I am full of mixed feelings.  I am grieving the loss of summer and lazy days with nowhere to have to be.  I am sad because my kids are one year older.  I am already feeling lonely without their bickering.  I am so excited for each of them as they meet their teachers and catch up with old friends.  I love watching them get out their new clothes and new school supplies. 

This year I sent my oldest off to high school.  She looked so beautiful and young:)  I felt so OLD.  I remember how much fun high school is and wish all of that for her.

I took my 5th grade daughter to her class and got my camera out to take her picture with her teacher and she didn't want that picture this year:(  I was one of two other moms getting pictures.  I still got that picture though.

I took my 2nd grader to his class and he had a substitute because his teacher is sick!  You could see the disappointment in each of the kids eyes as well as their parents.

How lucky am I to have these memories of the first day of the 2011-2012 school year:)
