Organizing

Good Monday to you:)
I have been following the blog:
Beneathmyheart.net and trying to do some organizing of my own.

I started with baskets from Goodwill, cleaned of course:)

Welcome to my mess!

I took everything out and cleaned :)

Ahhhhhhh:) much better!

Here is a drawer after.

It is so freeing to have the junk gone!

A simple lip scrub

Good Sunday to you:)
Go Seahawks!
Did you see the game?
Such a life lesson... Never give up!
I was looking through Good Housekeeping magazine when I came across a simple lip scrub exfoliant. My lips tend to get really dry this time of year.

1 tsp of each; brown sugar and olive oil.

Mix and put on lips.

Voila, moist, smooth lips:)

Happy Sunday,

A cool idea

Good Thursday to you:)
I was reading one of my favorite blogs today: mysweetsavannah.blogspot.com
She had the greatest idea. I made one for our family:

My kids have friends over often.

I made several copies of this and put one in each of my children's rooms.

Welcome guests

I made these:)

Good Tuesday to you:)
Well, our family just put our tree outside.
It feels good to get the house back in order!

I LOVE being a mom! I love everything about it except deciding what's for dinner EVERY night. My family decided a long time ago that they don't do left overs. Cooking isn't something I am good at or something I enjoy doing. I wish I enjoyed this but I don't. This week I decided that I would make a list of what we would eat all week and go to the store. I know this is something everyone on earth does, I do not. I have tried doing this before but I always end up not feeling like eating what  I chose on Sunday we would eat. I am nutty, I know.  Anywho, I will show you two dishes I am super proud of:

This is

Home made lasagna.  I made it by myself and it was delicious!

This is cook all day in the crockpot pot roast:)

Do any of you feel the way I do about dinner? Do you have a secret to staying sane? I would LOVE to hear from you:)

Happy Tuesday,

Wishing you joy

Good Monday to you:)
If your family is like mine, real life started back up today. I was so excited to get back to work:) unfortunately, I like many teachers, the first day after a long break have a sleepless night. I was amazed at how many of my students also had a sleepless night. I love teaching health where we get to discuss the "whys" of life:) we are able to see that we are not alone in our sleeplessness or our worrying or our stressors. I got to get flowers today and they brought me joy:) I wanted to share them with you:

Breathe

Exhale

Happy Monday:)

Thoughts and ramblings

Good Sunday before life returns to normal:) I am soooo smiling as I write those words: normal:) aaahhhhh! That to me is music to my ears. You see I am not a fan of having days of nothingness. Mr. SSH went with me to do our weekly shopping today and I was telling him that my brain feels like something is pushing in around it. I would give anything to switch brains with him for a day. I am afraid I wouldn't ever give his back! Hah! Are any of you like me? Do you dread having nothing to do? Most of my friends revel in hunkering down. Sigh....... I am a teacher and just today opened up my e mails. There was an e mail from district office reminding us that we need to welcome our kids back tomorrow focusing on how glad we are to be back and not to ask what presents they got or where they went on vacation. So true.... For many students the holiday break isn't a fun one and they may have been hungry and felt unsafe over break. I think for a lot of us this time of year is difficult. We are expected to love this time of year. I always feel like I am behind because I don't have a new year resolution or had one that I broke on day 1. For those of you out there who need encouragement:

These are words I wrote down at the last church service. They are all words that make you stop and rest in the meaning of them.

Happy Sunday,

~Dena:)
