I don't know about you but my soul is having

difficulty dealing with these grey sky days!

 

 

A few weeks ago a friend & I were shopping

at STARS which is a group of three antique stores

on Milwaukie Ave. in Portland, Oregon.

I LOVE to meander around from booth to booth

gaining ideas and going back in time.

I rarely find something that pulls me back and makes

me decide I MUST have it no matter what the price.

I am sooooo glad this is the case!

So is Mr. SSH:)

I stopped in my tracks when I saw this:

 

 

I had no idea where I was putting it.

 

 

I found a new home for it.

I had to move things around......

in the end, it looks better:)

 

 

The picture was taken by a local photographer.

She had the frame custom made for the print.

Sigh...........

I smile every time I look at it:)

I have been going through the space above my garage

and trying to declutter.

If you would have seen the space before I started removing things

you would have thought I was a hoarder.

I LOVE decorations

and sometimes I get forgetful about what I might already have....

Tonight I was going through another bin of decor to get rid of

when I found two keepers:)

 

 

One is the frame.

The other is the glass jar.

 

 

I took some twine and put it around the jar

and wrapped it around the back of the frame.

I LOVE how it turned out:)

 

 

I wonder what I will find next:)

Father's Day hike in the gorge.

We started our Father's Day

with a hike in the gorge.

We did the Eagle Creek Punch Bowl Falls hike.

What a BEAUTIFUL day for a hike:)

The scenery was amazing!

 

 

I love all of the wild flowers:)

 

 

There were a few skinny parts of the path.

Totally worth the walk!

 

 

The kids and I are soooooo blessed by this man:)

 

 

It was a fun day where we all were happy and laughing a lot!

WOW..... has it been RAINING here!

having the kids run through a welcome to summer sign.

Backyard decorating

I have been going through my outdoor decor

and putsing around the back yard placing decor.

It is such a fun thing to have the outside make you

smile as much as the inside of your house!

Anyone else like that?

I especially LOVE that I can see my backyard from inside:)

 

Yesterday I ventured into Joann's Fabric.

I only go about once a season but always find it worth my while.

 

 

I bought these paper stars normally $10 for $3 each.

 

 

They especially look good at night with my cafe lights on:)

 

 

I hung candle holders and put candles in them:)

 

 

I got out my cart and an umbrella (because of the rain:(  )

 

 

I got this sign at Joann's also:)

It was 70% off:)

$9.99!

The Rose Parade & more

Once again I am writing to you under

sunny skies:)

What a fabulous day I had yesterday.

It started in downtown Portland for the Rose Parade.

This is an annual tradition for our family.

 

 

We started out winning some prizes at an event

sponsored by my dad's bank:)

Isn't he handsome?  :)

All of the floats must be made of natural materials.

I have a thing for signs and this pointed to all of Portland's

greatest sites.

 

After the parade Mr. SSH & I got to go to a friend's daughter's wedding.
